I was so pleased to see that Dugi’s has delivered yet again with a free update to his Dailies and Events Guide.  It now includes vendor runs for all the major cities in WoW. This means that even a very low level character with less than 1 gold can start building their fortune!

In case you don’t know, a vendor run is where your character purchases items at low prices from vendors, and sells them for much more on the auction house. It is perfect for anyone that doesn’t have high level professions, or hates to farm for gold items. One of my favorite items that I like to grab everytime I see it on a vendor is the Recipe: Free Action Potion.  This is the first thing I usually try to purchase at a vendor on my new characters. For example, my new little gnome rogue bought this in Ironforge for 18 silver.  I posted it on the AH for 48 gold (undercutting the others posted there) and sold it within an hour. Bam! My level 5 gnome rogue now has more gold than she needs.

Dugi has made this simple process unbelievably easy with his vendor run guides.  The in-game guide will tell you exactly where to go, and what to buy. There are vendor runs designed for the high level character which cover entire continents and can earn you thousands of gold and now he has added city vendor runs designed for ALL LEVELS:

The Mists of Pandaria will be the newest expansion pack in World of Warcraft. After seven extremely successful years, World of Warcraft continues to bring new and exciting content to its players. The new expansion, expected to be released in the second or third quarter of 2012, will be no exception. Mists of Pandaria brings a colorful new continent, new talents, new race, new class, new level cap, dungeon challenge mode, and new vanity pet battles. Is it enough to keep players interested? Take a peek at the trailer and see if you notice something missing:

Asian Influence in all of Pandaria

We have a new continent populated by the Pandaren, who live for “balance, beauty, harmony, and hope,” in their peaceful setting. Blizzard developers have hinted however, that their peaceful existence will be pulled into the constant battle between horde and alliance.  The thing you don’t see in this fourth expansion is a clear world enemy, like there was in the three expansions before it.  Instead we have the peaceful pandas who some have predicted will have their world shattered in some way in future game patches.  The first hint if this is when your pandaren reaches level 11 and you have to choose a faction. Choose carefully because you won’t be able to change sides without paying for a character faction change!

I speculate that one reason for the heavily Asian influence of this new expansion is the ever growing World of Warcraft Asian player base. At the beginning of 2012, the game had an estimated 10.7 million subscribers.  It may surprise you to learn that only 22% of these subscribers are in North America and that nearly half of them are in Asia. At a time when World of Warcraft has become a “mature” game with less than cutting edge graphics, I believe that the Asian influence in this expansion was as much a business strategy as it was a creative game development.  That aside, the Asian culture lends itself to a beautiful, and compelling backdrop for the new continent, the Pandarens, and the new monk class. I for one, can barely wait!
